Unfortunately after years of taking our car here, we won't be back. After our most recent costly repair and a bill of $1,234.75 my husband and I sat down and looked over all of our bills from years past to see the work we have had done at Crabtree Auto repair and make a timeline. Our first visit with Crabtree in July 2012 was to replace the timing belt, serpentine belt, water pump, thermostat and cooling system we expected the hefty bill of over $700 for that. What we didn't expect was that it was going to be one of many costly visits to come. Less than 2 years later in May 2014 we went back due to the same issue and again replaced the timing belt and serpentine belt after only 11,000 miles on those belts. Again we were met with a hefty bill of $457. I would expect more than 11,000 miles before having to replace all the belts for the second time in less than 2 years. Between July 2012 and May 2014 we spent $1,947.66 in repairs and $1,175 was replacing the same belts TWICE! That brings me to September 4, 2014 we had double platinum spark plugs, new wire set and a fuel filter placed and was told that our brakes were good at 80%. March 2016 we took it in for an oil change and were told brakes were at 80% still. One year and 9 months later on December 2017 we were told the brakes were so bad they were damaging the rotors. On that day 12/6/17 we had brakes, rotors, front caliper, brake pads, brake fluid and new starter done by crabtree. After spending $1,235 for those services we were told all else was well with the car. 2 weeks later our car stopped working completely. My husband got stranded. The Spark plugs they put in 3 years prior were completely shot! Only 30,000 miles later! Quality platinum spark plugs and wire set should last on average 100k miles! We had to have our car towed to the Toyota dealership where they again replaced the spark plugs and cord set. They told us that the wireset that Crabtree put in was after market and of poor quality. Don't you think Crabtree would have noticed that the spark plugs were shot during their inspection just 2 weeks prior? So after spending over $4,000 ( more than our car is worth) and having something go wrong with our car (multiple times) days to weeks after we have sent it to Crabtree to have yet another costly repair... We are done taking our car here. I really feel taken advantage of and wanted to share our story with others.
